Yeah, not so much. Granted, my contributions to the site started to wane as the year progressed but I was very much surprised to recently discover the site no longer exists. It's just a Go Daddy placeholder denoting the domain name is available. Gone, all gone. So, I'm going to drag them out and post them here from time to time. So, let us present:
So You Say You Want a Revolution?
Everyone is talking about the election and claiming it's a revolution. Standing in line, waiting to vote for this guy is a real revolution, a real chance to up-turn the establishment. Sure, okay.
You know what was a revolution? The internal combustion engine! That device changed the face of the nation. It freed up people to go wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted. Freed from the tyranny of train schedules or stagecoach monopolies, the average person could now jump in an automobile and travel as far has their desire and gas money could take them. Today, just try and get someone to write a love sonnet about the internal combustion engine. Traffic, pollution, road rage, that's want people think of.
So maybe people should shut up about revolutions, because in the end they always start whining about the end result. In fact, let's say that unless there's an actual revolt going on, you don't get to pick what is and what isn't a revolution. Something will happen and people will flock to it or they won't. If you have to nag people into something, yeah, that's probably not going to catch on. There'll be change, there's always change, it's just not going to happen on your time table or within your agenda.
