In NYC, Circle Line cruises are a tourist institution. We see the boats in the harbor all day long. So, naturally I wondered, what if you took it to the next level? Cruises to nowhere were becoming popular at the time, so I decided to combine the concepts. I like the way it turned out. Short, sweet, absurd and, I thought, written very much in the PHC style. But no, they didn't use it. And since that ship as sailed, let's present it here:
Endless Circle Cruise
GK: ---And this portion of the show brought to you by "Endless Circle Cruises of New York."
AN: Who doesn't love those cruises around the island of Manhattan? And who doesn't love those luxury cruises to nowhere? Well, now we at New York's Circular Cruise line have combined the two into the ENDLESS CIRCLE CRUISE of New York.
WO: We just wanted to relax and see the city!
MN: Yes, what better way to see the city than from a ship cruising the waters around the city?
WO: Indeed. You just look up and there's the city. You can't miss it.
AN: You board one of our patented Endless Circle Cruise ships at 59th Street and set sail around Manhattan. Round and round and round.
WO: Yes, by just cruising around the city we avoided parking hassles and rude cabbies.
MN: Not to mention all those New Yorkers!
AN: Yes, with the Endless Circle Cruise, you avoid the hectic pace of a city that never sleeps which makes it always cranky and irritable. You just circle Gotham, over and over and over again. And frankly, isn't that the best way to see New York, from a distance?
WO: After a couple of days, we were anxious to get off the boat and that's when the captain informed us the phrase "endless circle cruise" wasn't just some advertising hyperbole.
MN: Thankfully, the buffet was great.
WO: If we hadn't collided with the Staten Island ferry, we'd still be out there, I'm sure of it.
MN: Good thing for that buffet.
AN: Endless Circle Cruise, New York's perpetual ship experience. If you only take one New York city cruise, this'll be it.
GK: Endless Circle Cruise, where ship happens.
