So the procedure for the check is Les the lawyer will send it to me. I endorse it and send it back to him and he’ll divvy it up.
Three days later I add an entry; I had the check and returned it. I sent back the tax papers to prove I’m American. I walked other papers (“certificate of authorship”) over to the Manhattan lawyers (I’m still sure they thought I was a messenger). Sent more scripts to Kevin. Finished up proofing and received the check to cover my travel expenses. You’re welcome Mastercharge.

Oh, and Joel and Bill did read “Little Devil.” “Same reaction as Kevin; love the guys, love the writing, can’t use the story.” Kevin keeps talking about getting an assignment from a studio (This excites me, sap that I am). As I concluded at the time, “Since nobody likes my ideas, maybe I should work on somebody else’s.”
Again, I was putting too many eggs in the Kevin basket…
