Anyway, to remind everyone, TMI: Daily is on the TMI: Hollywood Facebook Page weeknights at 6pm on (Hollywood time). And here's my contributions for last week:
It was a solid week for me and my jokes. But again, things that could have been reworked better weren't ("They secede" should have been "Texas secedes.") and punchlines that were fine were extended (adding "Deutsche Bank" or "for no reason." Or reworking the donut gag from "I'm starting to understand why they think Trump won" to "who wants to bet she thinks 74 million votes beats 81 million." It's the same internal joke logic, but repainted. The Atlantic City punchline is a line I've been using constantly has the news reported over the last four years how different buildings were removing the Trump name. The Prince Phillip line had "Script changes" added for something I thought was implied my my version. As for the FEMA joke, I'm expecting to here the topper, "2021, am I right?" be pushed into catchphrase territory for any "Biden is doing the actual job" related jokes. And using the actual Spanish pronunciation of "nada" kinda screws up the whole Wanda/Nada wordplay I'm so fonda. But, as I said, a pretty solid week of jokes. Anyway, to remind everyone, TMI: Daily is on the TMI: Hollywood Facebook Page weeknights at 6pm on (Hollywood time). And here's my contributions for last week:

It's was a week of ups & downs (and not just GameStop stock). I got nothing in a couple of nights, then a couple on other nights. I went back on forth about claiming credit on the Covfefe, but the set-up was mine and my punchline, which mentioned bigly, Nambia and covfeve, was whittled down. Even the first joke ("we're all to blame") as well. The logic was there, but the punch line was rewritten to a phrase that the producer keeps using but is the same logic as my original punchline about Biden winning. Then there was the show of the 26th; the show used a lot of music on it (voting on the best one-hit wonder song) that Facebook removed the show from the timeline for copyright issues. I had to grab the audio of the show from the podcast version and insert that. A productive week, overall. Someday I'll get back on the main show, but it's a tricky time for me on the east coast. Anyway, to remind everyone, TMI: Daily is on the TMI: Hollywood Facebook Page weeknights at 6pm on (Hollywood time). And here's my contributions for last week: They're getting back into their groove. Me as well. I got a decent number of jokes in (a few rewordings here, a few lengthy set-ups there; so I can toot my own horn here). Despite Trump's exit, there's so much residual stuff to mock, which I'm happy to do. California is in the process of lifting their shelter at home order. I don't know how that will affect performers yet, but the TMI Troupe has really gotten into producing these shows, so we'll see what happens once theaters are open. But, based on CA's ICU capacity (0% as of this moment) I can't see things changing too much. You'll have to go to TMI: Hollywood's FB page to see all the topics covered, so... ...to remind you, TMI: Daily is on the TMI: Hollywood Facebook Page weeknights at 6pm on (Hollywood time). And here's my contributions for last week: Posting late this week. After taking off for the holidays, TMI: Hollywood slowly geared up by producing the TMI: Wrap as a stand-alone feature. It was a short week, and I had a spotty success rate on my submissions. The Biden impeachment joke is essentially mine; the set-up, and the spirit of the punchline, though re-worded. They had to use a couple of different hosts for the bit as schedules differed for the week. But, all in all, a solid start to a new year! Now to remind you, TMI: Daily is on the TMI: Hollywood Facebook Page weeknights at 6pm on (Hollywood time). And here's my contributions for last week: TMI: Hollywood produces a live TOPICAL show each week, every Sunday. And by "every" we mean "many." Not everything submitted gets in. And not everything that gets rejected has a shelf life. TMI: Holiday 2020After getting nothing in last week, I got a goodly number of jokes in this week, even with striking out on 2 of those days. The coin flip toss joke punch line was fixed by someone who understands football better than I, but the basic joke was intact. I'm taking credit for the Mitch McConnell joke because they took my set-up and re-used the "gridlock" punchline for an earlier "Biden elected" joke I got in. Maybe that's a "running gag" they want to keep using. The pro-life joke punchline was extended to explain what my original gag "Except for all the dead people" alluded to. And there was some re-phrasing and added words to the Dissing the GOP joke and the Russia joke. Surprisingly, they took my ball drop line as is, and it was one of the more off-beat lines I submitted. And the Santa joke was basically changed from a random guy to making it a Trump joke, and that totally makes sense. TMI: Hollywood will be doing the Daily Updates as stand-alones until 12/22, and I think they may have a surprise or two before the end of the year, so keep checking their FB page for postings. Have a pleasant week, all and stay safe! Got a nice run of jokes this week, not without some hitches. Like the Dept. of State joke. I actually read a headline that used the phrase "diplomatic immunity" about their parties, so I decided to change it to "confusing diplomatic immunity with herd immunity." But it got changed back to just "diplomatic immunity." I'm proud of the 'boot' joke. I got good reaction from that elsewhere, that they adjusted the wording a bit and it did work better. Other punchlines were extended to better explain the set up. The presidential vaccine bit got re-worked. The "caroling" joke got re-written by someone that doesn't know there is a Carol on TWD. I'm taking the credit for all of them anyway. Now to remind you, TMI: Daily is on the TMI: Hollywood Facebook Page weeknights at 6pm on (Hollywood time). And here's my contributions for last week: Only two shows this week because of the Thanksgiving break. But I got a joke in each, so I'm happy. I try to mix it up between sharp, biting truth-to-power jokes and goofy, silly jokes. We skew goofy, silly this week. Which is fine. In fact, when I come up with a good goofy punchline or pun and sometimes get the vibe it's right up the producer's alley and I'm often correct. Not much to add, except to remind you, TMI: Daily is on the TMI: Hollywood Facebook Page weeknights at 6pm on (Hollywood time). And here's my contributions for last week: Not an outstanding week for me. I got a solid joke in about the medal of Freedom, but I got aced out of a couple days' videos. Zip, zilch, nada. Then the next day, I'd get two in, so I guess it evens out. Not much to add, except to remind you, TMI: Daily is on the TMI: Hollywood Facebook Page weeknights at 6pm on (Hollywood time). And here's my contributions for last week: Okay, let's rant. Sean Connery dies. It's 2020, so I write a joke about double-oh seven being taken out by 2020. Not the funniest joke, but I liked the play on 007 vs. 2020. I mean, I even wrote it out as double-oh seven. They changed it to 2020 took out James Bond. How's that even a joke? My logic is there, 2020 being so bad it's killing indestructible people like James Bond, but I wanted to bump it up a bit. But, no, no, they rewrote that. It wasn't better. Just different. Maybe worse. I know, I know, writers get re-written, but it just gets to me after awhile. I write alone. I tend to fall in love with my words, so I feel it. It's been this way since junior high school. I joined the school paper as a way to express myself. My first assignment was to interview a teacher about an upcoming school event. I clumsily did the interview and submitted it. When the paper came out, my byline was there, but there was not a single word I had written. They event had changed and the teacher spoke to the supervisor of the paper directly to update the information. She explained it to me, but I feel...bad. I didn't get a shot to rework it. I'm reading it for the first time with no idea and I felt it was wrong to have my name on it. Otherwise, it was an average week dealing with the election and its aftermath. And, once again, TMI: Daily is on the TMI: Hollywood Facebook Page weeknights at 6pm on (Hollywood time). And here's my contributions for last week: |
